Exhibitions

September 24 to 26

  • Check-in and Lounge featuring an inspiring “Unexpected” theme, designed by Filipa Prucha Tuna and Artur Correia, Fortuna
Filipa Prucha Tuna and Artur Correia, from Fortuna, are responsible for curating these spaces. The concept is born from the dialogue between Feel Balance, created by Homeing for its 11th edition, and the theme Unexpected, created by FORTUNA. The proposal seeks to create an experience of balance and surprise, where the building’s memory and a contemporary reading of the space intersect in a subtle way.
In the Check-in area, as a place of arrival and welcome, the intervention enhances the existing atmosphere and proposes a new way of experiencing the space, respecting its history and reinforcing its role as the fair’s meeting point.
In the Lounge area, the concept continues through inspiration drawn from the arches of Lisbon’s architecture, creating a striking and welcoming space designed for moments of pause, meeting and work, in dialogue with the identity of the partner brands.
  • Machine for Thinking About the Relationship Between Us and Objects

The installation explores the idea that subject and object do not exist independently, but are mutually constituted.

Metal coat racks, a project by first-year students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Equipment Design, coordinated by Professor João Cruz.

Collaboration: Project Labb (João Rocha and João Costa)

New Modern Mediterranean - Designing from the place

Francisca Maltez, Azores Botanic

Synopsis

New Modern Mediterranean is often recognised through an aesthetic, but before it is a visual language, it can be understood as a way of designing from the place. Francisca Maltez (botanist, landscape architect, founder and CEO of Azores Botanic) draws on her experience in projects in Comporta to explore this relationship between territory, architecture and botany.

In a context shaped by sandy soils, maritime exposure, pine forests, montado woodland and vegetation adapted to water scarcity, choosing a plant does not begin with its appearance. It begins with the climate, the light, the soil, the wind, and the way that species will grow and transform over time.

From spontaneous landscape to designed landscape, a reflection on how to build a contemporary Mediterranean language that does not imitate the territory, but is born from it.

Biophilic Architecture

Ana Neves, Technical Director Tábua Rasa

Synopsis

Biophilic architecture is based on the hypothesis that human beings maintain a biological predisposition to seek connection with life, natural systems, and their patterns. When applied to the built environment, this idea has been studied through perception, attention restoration, stress response, physiological comfort, and how certain environments influence the human experience of spaces.

Starting from the Feel Balance theme, tábua rasa® proposes a conversation about wood as a biophilic material in contemporary interiors. Not as a decorative sign of nature, but as a perceptual material: with variation, depth, texture, temperature to the touch, acoustic response, aging, and a visual complexity that the brain recognizes as organic.

From Rehabilitation to Well-Being – Spaces That Work

José Ávila e Sousa, Joana Laranjeira, António Laranjeira

Synopsis:

José Ávila e Sousa, CMO of Grupo Preceram, invites architect Joana Laranjeira and António Laranjeira, co-founders of the “Ó da Joana” studio, for a conversation about practical cases that combine rehabilitation, decoration, and improvement of space comfort.

With a very strong presence on social media and in the media, the studio has specialized in architecture and interior decoration that go beyond appearance. Their vision of putting the home at the service of people is summed up in one of Joana’s phrases: “it is from real routines and materials with intention that a space that works is born.”
