The way society perceives and reacts to natural, technological, hybrid, or social risks directly influences the safety of us all. Risk literacy is not just knowledge; it’s the ability to understand risks, act preventively, and make informed decisions in emergencies. In this roundtable, we bring together Civil Defense experts to reflect on the challenges, gaps, and opportunities in preparing the population. We will explore how prevention, crisis response, effective communication, and capacity building in coordinating the response of national Defense and Civil Protection complement each other to build more resilient communities. Dialogue between citizens, institutions, and experts is essential to transform information into action. We invite everyone to participate actively, directing questions, experiences, and ideas.
